During this MMI, we will identify the etiology of morbidity/mortality on the pediatric critical care medical/surgical service and assign outcome as technical error, system error, or patient disease related. We will review best-practice and current evidence-based approaches to care for identified morbidity/mortality in critically ill patients. We will create and assign initiatives to improve care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and reduce morbidity and mortality for future patients.
