AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (0.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (0.50 hours)

If you have not already, it is highly recommended to first complete the PHiiT QI 101 Course

Clinical studies have demonstrated a 90% effectiveness rate in HPV vaccines preventing infection and precancerous lesions. Studies are showing significant decrease in HPV infections in the US even though the vaccination rates are still relatively low. Clinicians are less likely to make a strong recommendation in 11-12 year olds than older patients. Because a clinician?s recommendation greatly influences parental acceptance these modules are designed to educate providers in making a strong recommendation to families and address missed opportunities to administer the HPV Vaccine.

Objectives

After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the relationship of HPV in various cancers.
  2. Describe best practice clinical guidelines for HPV vaccinations.
  3. Provide a strong provider recommendation to families on receiving the HPV vaccine at the recommended ages
  4. Reduce Missed Opportunities for HPV Vaccination

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and TNAAP. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
