The aim of the Breast Fellow Conference is to educate and update the knowledge of all practitioners involved in breast care. The target audience includes attendings, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers and nurses involved in the care of patients with breast diseases. This is a didactic course which is held every Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm throughout the academic year. Didactic modalities include – lectures on up-to-date treatments of breast disease, case-based presentations with patient care discussion, and journal club discussions. The topics discussed include: surgical management of breast cancer and benign breast diseases, benign and malignant breast pathology, radiologic evaluation and management of breast pathology, medical oncology treatment of breast cancer, radiation oncology treatment of breast cancer, management of breast treatment complications including lymphedema care and physical medicine and rehabilitation, breast cancer survivorship, the latest articles in breast disease management, updates from national medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology meetings on breast disease management.

Objective(s): 1 Educate all participants in the best practice of breast related diseases to diminish knowledge gaps given the rapid advancement of the field of breast disease care. 2 Discuss updates in breast cancer imaging for earlier detection. 3 Identify therapeutic advances in early and advanced hormone receptor-positive, HER2neu overexpressing, and triple-negative breast cancer. 4 Identify risk factors and endocrine interventions in patients’ high risk for developing breast cancer. 5 Review advances in radiation therapy and outcomes.

  5. Review advances in radiation therapy and outcomes.
