The College of American Pathologists (CAP) recommends performing review of pathology cases to reduce diagnostic error in a timely manner with documentation of case review. [1] Case consensus conferences have been shown to be a useful method in reducing interobserver variability and improving diagnostic accuracy. [2] The VA Anatomic Pathology Consensus Conference is a daily conference in which pathologists bring any challenging surgical pathology, cytology, or dermatopathology cases that they encounter during daily practice. It will also serve as a forum for discussion of best practices, including College of American Pathologist guidelines on ancillary testing. Case review will be documented and maintained as a permanent record.
