This conference will review data on the most complex cases presented VCH Congenital Cardiac Center and reviewed by the attending staff of the cardiology, CICU, anesthesia, and cardiac surgery teams The content will focus on the best practices in management of complex lesions, comparing/contrasting angiographic, echocardiographic, magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac catheterization hemodynamic data. The presentation of data from all these modalities on the same patients allows examination of the contributions/strengths and limitations of the individual modalities and their roles in patient care.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Effectively participate in the clinical management of patients with complex congenital heart disease.
  2. Interpret catheterization data and utilize interpretation in medical decision making.
  3. Decide between surgical options for patients with congenital heart disease including weighing risks and benefits of each.
  4. Interpret and utilize echocardiographic and MRI cardiac imaging in medical decision making. in patients with congenital heart disease.
