Designed for practicing general surgeons (and those in training), Surgery Grand Rounds offers an educational session focused on a wide variety of topics relevant to the practice of surgery. Surgery Grand Rounds will present experts to discuss new/updated treatment guidelines in the knowledge and management of various surgical disorders while reviewing surgical cases from VUMC. This exchange of ideas and concepts, along with treatment guidelines, serve to improve patient care throughout the VUMC system.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss improved evaluation, diagnosis and basic science of various general surgical disorders.
  2. Describe and discuss evidence-based management strategies for various general surgical disorders.
  3. Describe and discuss present and future research regarding various general surgical disorders.
