AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ABP MOC Part 2 (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours)

Pediatric practice is constantly evolving with ongoing research supporting new medications and clinical practice guidelines. This educational conference series is designed to bring those new developments to the all pediatric primary care practitioners under the VUMC umbrella (in the Division of General Pediatrics, Outreach Medicine, and Vanderbilt Integrated Pediatrics) with expert guidance from the pediatric specialists at Monroe Carrell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Each one-hour session will include a case presentation, review of current medical practice and update with new guidelines or medication indications, and discussion by participants to identify and remove barriers to implementation of these into clinical practice. Breakout sessions will be created to allow participants from each clinic to work on unique applications or barriers in their system or patient population. Sessions will be recorded and available for those providers whose clinical schedules do not allow live participation.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Understand current evidence-based practice in general pediatrics for the content reviewed.
  2. Apply new medical evidence to create improved personal practice patterns and clinic systems.
  3. Discuss gaps in current knowledge in general pediatrics and limitations of the current evidence base.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 1.00 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

PLEASE NOTE: To receive CME or MOC II credit for this activity, the evaluation component must be completed. To receive MOC II credit, the evaluation must be completed no later than November 30th. Evaluations completed after this date will award CME credit only. Evaluations can be found in your CloudCME portal under the Evaluation & Certificates tab.

PLEASE NOTE: This regularly scheduled series does not award MOC II credit for the month of December. MOC II credit can only be reported within the same year the credit was earned.
