The Epilepsy Surgery Conference is offered on the first, third, and fifth Friday of every from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Sloan Conference Room in Medical Center North (MCN) VUMC. Each session provides opportunities for neurosurgeons, neurologists, fellows, and residents to examine recent cases and discuss incorporating new guidelines and research findings into practice as well as opportunities for improvement in diagnosis and management. After participating in this CME activity, clinician participants should be able to describe and discuss strategies to identify epilepsy patients who are good candidates for epilepsy surgery, approaches to identify features of the pre-surgical evaluation which are favorable for surgical outcome and those that are unfavorable, or that deserve additional investigation, and surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for patients with intractable epilepsy.
