Each video in this series, is designed to educate and to encourage more private providers to participate in the VFC Program. Having more VFC providers in Tennessee helps build vaccine confidence and hopefully increases immunization rates by strengthening the vaccine delivery system and by keeping vaccine delivery within the patient’s medical home. Topics include: A Road Map to Safe Vaccine Storage and Handling; Parental Vaccine Hesitancy: Current Challenges and Strategies and Being a Vaccine for Children (VFC) Provider: A Sound Investment for Your Practice and Patients


Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand vaccine storage guidelines and temperature requirements
  2. Define routine and emergency storage and handling procedures
  3. Understand reasons why parents are hesitant towards vaccines and describe how to refute reassure these concerns
  4. Identify evidence-based methods to work with vaccine hesitant families
  5. Identify key benefits for patients and their practice of being a VFC provider
  6. Opportunity to share the barriers they face to being a VFC provider
  7. Understand the qualifications of children that qualify for the VFC program
  8. Identify the steps necessary to enroll in the VFC Program
