The conference is intended for physician Medical Directors of Encompass Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals representing over 145 hospitals. These physicians serve both clinical and medical executive functions, providing direct care to patients and leadership to other members of their medical staffs. The conference focuses on the development of knowledge of new and current clinical practices and technology as they relate to rehabilitation medicine while maintaining CMS requirements and the ability to provide high-quality care as patient acuity increases.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss your leadership role as a medical director in an IRF hospital in challenging times
  2. Describe and discuss updates in medical management of the rehabilitation patients in your hospital
  3. Describe and discuss governmental requirements for IRF documentation and use of EHR to adequately address those requirements
  4. Describe and discuss implications of changes in rehabilitation for your hospital
