Physicians new to Vanderbilt will be provided information relating to quality, safety, documentation, professionalism, and clinical systems that will enable them to discharge their roles in the medical center. After participating in New Clinician Orientation, you should be able to describe and discuss the mission, values and goals of the Vanderbilt Health System, key responsibilities of your position and the impact it has on others, essential knowledge about professionalism, safety, documentation and quality that will help you be successful in their clinical practices, and how to navigate through and use the basic clinical IT and EMR systems. Topics on the first day include compliance training requirements, Integrated pharmacy and Meds 2 Beds, impact of unconscious bias on patient care and relationships with colleagues and staff, faculty benefits, professionalism at VUMC, sexual harassment guidelines, work-life connections and provider wellness, risk management, and N-95 mask compliance and fit training.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss:
  2. 1. the mission, values and goals of the Vanderbilt Health System and the Vanderbilt Medical Group
  3. 2. the key responsibilities of your position and the impact it has on patients, families, colleagues, and staff
