Psychiatry MMI is offered quarterly on the 3rd Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in Luton Lecture Hall, Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH), room 1206. Presentations of cases in which outcomes were not expected and/or not desirable followed by discussion of strengths and weaknesses of the patient care provided, institutional support provided, relevant research evidence, and strategies for improvement. After participating in Psychiatry MMI, participants should be able to describe and discuss systems approach to understanding adverse outcomes, approaches to improving care consistent with standard of care, and legal implications and expectations related to delivery of treatment.
