TIPQC will provide a two-day Annual Meeting covering the topics outlined in the objectives below.


ACCME Objectives
  1. Describe and discuss the need for trauma care of patients and health care providers (e.g. nurses) involved in traumatic births.
  2. Describe and discuss recognizing and addressing racial disparities that could affect treatment and the need for equity in care.
  3. Describe and discuss the tremendous benefits to the newborn of delayed or optimal cord clamping after birth and changes made and lessons learned from hospitals involved in TIPQC’s Optimal Cord Clamping Project.
  4. Provide opportunities for participants to attend workshops in their respective areas or interest describing and discussing: (i) White House Initiatives, (ii) Health Equity (iii) Cardiac Concerns in Pregnancy (iii) TDH’s Maternal Mortality Review Report, (iv) Doula Legislation, (v) Nashville Strong Babies Project, (vi) Mental Health Strategy, (vii) NICU Equity Care, (viii) Skin to Skin (ix) Golden Week, (x) Best Practices for Bilirubin, Breast Feeding, Safe Sleep, and Newborn Hypothermia, (xi) Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH) of the newborn and kickoff of TIPQC’s IVH Project, and (xii) promotion of safe vaginal delivery (PVD) and kickoff of TIPQC’s PVD Project. Infant and Maternal Simulation Training will also be provided and TDH will host a fireside chat with participants.
  5. Describe and discuss engaging the community.
  6. Describe and discuss potentially better practices for treatment of Severe Maternal Hypertension and changes made and lessons learned from hospitals involved in TIPQC’s Severe Maternal Hypertension Project.
  7. Infant and Maternal Simulation Training will also be provided and TDH will host a fireside chat with participants.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. After attending this event, 80% of participants who complete the evaluation will self-report an increase in ability to recognize/identify, understand, as well as learn state and national best practices for treatment or management of complicated maternal and infant medical concerns.
