Pediatric specific trauma resuscitations are reviewed by the staff and by the individuals involved in a particular case for learning and quality purposes only. In a monthly resuscitation review conference, actual footage is presented to the trauma team members, specific aspects of a resuscitation are critiqued, and supplemental didactic information is presented. Digital recording allows analysis of: 1) priorities during the resuscitation; 2) cognitive integration of the workup by the team leader; 3) physical integration of the workup by the team leader; 4) team member adherence to assigned responsibilities, resuscitation time, errors or breaks in technique; and 5) behavior change over time.

Objective(s): 1 After participating in this activity, 80% of learners who complete the evaluation will self-report an increase in the topic presented. 1 Strategies to manage a pediatric patient who has been diagnosed with trauma. 2 Approaches to monitoring impact of management strategies on patients with specific injury types. 3 Evaluation strategies to diagnose certain injury types. 4 Current practice guidelines and treatment for care of the pediatric trauma patient. 5 Recent research related to trauma treatment.
