This half-day training program is designed for clinical providers who are new to HCV treatment. It's best suited for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and nurses. It may not be suitable for non-clinical staff.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify risk factors for HCV which indicate that a patient should be tested
  2. Discuss the epidemiology of HCV and current trends
  3. Describe the pretreatment evaluation, including patient history, physical exam, lab assessments, staging, and readiness assessment
  4. Classify the different HCV genotypes and recommended treatment selections
  5. Discuss appropriate monitoring while a patient is undergoing HCV treatment
  6. Identify common drug-drug interactions and pharmacological considerations
  7. Summarize perinatal transmission and pediatric HCV
