The Cardio-oncology conference is a twice monthly lecture series introducing both clinical and research concepts. Speakers both locally, nationally, and internationally are brought in to discuss both the basics of cardio-oncology along with cutting edge findings in the field. Topics covered include both clinical work, basic science research, and translational (bench to bedside) research.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss: 

  1. The emerging subspecialty of cardio-oncology
  2. The pathophysiology of cancer treatment induced cardiovascular toxicity
  3. Therapies used for patients with cancer that can lead to cardio-toxicity
  4. Cardiovascular screening protocols that should be used for each cancer therapy
  5. Strategies to manage patients with cancer who develop cardio-toxicity.
  6. Approaches to manage cardiovascular disease in patients who survived cancer


Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.
