Non-Physician Attendance (6.00 hours), ANCC - American Nurses Credentialing Center (6.00 hours), Psychologists - APA CE (6.00 hours)


Pediatric Behavioral Health Training focused on individualized care. Topics include child development, caring for children in crisis, caring for children with autism, patient engagement, and de-escalation.


APA Objectives
  1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Apply verbal de-escalation skills during the care of pediatric behavioral health patients.
  2. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Assess developmental level and needs of a patient and apply that knowledge to individualized care.
  3. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Assess patients' needs and determine appropriate patient engagement strategies.
  4. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Determine best methods for communication with patients (verbal, non-verbal) based on developmental status and presentation.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will self-report increased knowledge related to the care of pediatric behavioral health patients.
