This multi-session program (three-day course and three follow-up sessions) will be offered seven times in 2020 January 15 - July 13, Feb 19 - August 24, March 25- Sept 21, May 27-Nov 30, June 24, 2020 - Jan 18, 2021, Sept 23, 2020 - April 5, 2021, and Nov 4, 2020 - May 10, 2021) in conference room 1107 in Oxford House at VUMC. The course is designed to help clinicians who have had problems associated with intimidating and disruptive behaviors towards, patients, colleagues, and staff develop appropriate behaviors. After participating in the Program for Distressed Physicians, clinician participants should be able to describe and discuss methods to evaluate their personal potential for disruptive behavior, strategies to recognize the potential for disruptive behavior in professional settings and approaches to avoiding circumstances that contribute to disruptive behavior in professional settings.


Objectives

After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:


  1. methods to evaluate your personal potential for disruptive behavior
  2. strategies to recognize the potential for disruptive behavior in professional settings
  3. approaches to avoiding circumstances that contribute to disruptive behavior in professional settings
