This is an annual event facilitated by the Advisory Board for VUMC physician leaders to develop specific knowledge and competencies pertinent to their role in leading physicians at the medical center - roles like medical director and division chief.



Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  1. 1. Describe how the current health care landscape impacts delivery of the best possible patient care
  2. 2. Explain the importance of casting a positive “leadership shadow”, especially in times of crisis and organizational stress
  3. 3. Reflect on how your leadership of self and others has been affected by today's crises and others
  4. 4. Describe an approach to reduce the tendency to succumb to instinctual responses when facing crisis
  5. a. Intentionally pause to reflect on options before taking action
  6. b. Balance character traits when making decisions
  7. c. Reframe typical response (of self and others) to uncertainty and ambiguity
  8. d. Adopt techniques to be curious and foster curiosity among others
  9. e. Recognize and address misconceptions that can hinder inclusivity
  10. f. Take actions to be more inclusive
