This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and respiratory therapists involved in the transfer and transport care of critically ill and injured patients. Transport cases are reviewed with the medical director. Clinical presentations are reviewed with content experts. Education is targeted towards practice gaps when appropriate.

Objective(s): 1 1. Collect documentation for the patient to be transported from the referring institution 2 2. Determine if a patient meets the criteria for transport 3 3. Use evidence-based approaches to evaluate a patient to be transported and determine conditions that need to be monitored in addition to the conditions that prompted transport 4 4. Use evidence-based approaches to monitor and manage a patient’s conditions during transport 5 5. Provide referring institution patient documentation and documentation of patient experience to receiving institution.
