CAMHL Clinics will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the principles behind workplace micro-learning, and how this approach has the potential to address knowledge and performance gaps in a variety of clinical settings. Participants will have the opportunity to present their own ideas for workplace micro-learning projects, with course faculty and other participants providing feedback on project plans. The CAMHL Clinic's overarching goal is support participants as they design, plan and implement projects that will have measurable outcomes and that will be suitable for scholarly publication and presentation.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Discuss the characteristics of health professions education activities that have been shown to be most effective in bringing about intended practices changes that will in turn lead to improved quality of care and patient outcomes.,
  2. Explain the learning theories that support the use of workplace microlearning approaches.
  3. Design microlearning/workplace learning activities that aim to address an identified practice gap and take into consideration the practice setting, target learner groups, and systems level factors that might facilitate or impede change..
  4. Employ electronic learning technologies in delivering microlearning/workplace learning activities.
  5. Develop evaluation and assessment strategies that demonstrate the impact of learning interventions on individual learner competencies (knowledge, skills, attitudes), team competencies, practice behaviors, and/or clinical outcomes.
