TARGET AUDIENCE The 47th Annual Meeting of the Southern Clinical Neurological Society (SCNS) is designed for clinical and academic neurologists and other physicians with an interest in neurology. The Scientific Program has been planned to give the attendees an update on the latest developments in various specialties of neurology. GENERAL MEETING Educational sessions are scheduled into two formats with all day sessions on Saturday and Sunday and half day sessions on Monday and Tuesday. MEET THE PROFESSOR Each day, just prior to dinner, we invite you to enjoy our famous “meet the professor” get together where one or two of the day’s speakers informally discuss hot topics and/or controversial issues in clinical neurology. You are encouraged to contribute your own experiences including cases from your practice. ABPN MOC The society will offer three self-assessment exams (SAE) eligible for MOC Part 2 credit and a performance-in-practice project eligible for MOC Part 4 credit (PIP) from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for participants who are interested.



Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:

  1. Approaches to evaluating and diagnosing epilepsy, movement disorders, headache, behavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis, and stroke based on current clinical practice guidelines and findings from recent research studies
  2. Strategies for managing epilepsy, movement disorders, headache, behavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis, and stroke based on current clinical practice guidelines and findings from recent research studies
  3. Federal policy changes that impact patient access to care and the practice of neurology
  4. Strategies and techniques for clinical encounters with patients using tele-medicine technologies


This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Woodberry Associates . Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 22.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
