Neonatology MMI Conference is offered monthly. Participants will engage in education on the value of obtaining post-mortem examination and improving patient outcomes. A variety of topics from researchers in several disciplines from across the VU and VUMC institutions will be covered.

Vascular Anomalies Case Conference is offered twice monthly. Participants will engage in education on management of patients with vascular anomalies and improving patient outcomes. A variety of topics from researchers in several disciplines from across the VU and VUMC institutions will be covered.

During this MMI, we will identify the etiology of morbidity/mortality on the pediatric critical care medical/surgical service and assign outcome as technical error, system error, or patient disease related. We will review best-practice and current evidence-based approaches to care for identified morbidity/mortality in critically ill patients. We will create and assign initiatives to improve care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and reduce morbidity and mortality for future patients.

This activity will discuss basic pathophysiology in critical illness, strategies for evaluating pediatric patients to determine illnesses and severity, commonly employed treatment strategies for critical illness, and identification and treatment of common complications of critical illness.

A multidisciplinary team including pediatric endocrinology, pediatric ENT, pediatric surgery, pathology, cytology, radiology, and nuclear medicine meet regularly to discuss patient cases of thyroid nodules and cancer in addition to reviewing relevant medical literature and discussing research opportunitites.
