AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours)

If you have not already, it is highly recommended to first complete the PHiiT QI 101 Course

The rate of children participating in annual well child visits and Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) screens for the Medicaid population has slowly declined from 64% in 2011 to 54% in 2016.  The rates are much lower in adolescent populations (40-50%).  The current system must be improved through practice collaboration or it will not be sustainable, effective, or succeed in its current goals.  This educational module is designed to improve the understanding of Bright Futures recommendations for well child visits, the required components of EPSDT, and proper documentation for services.  In addition, it will assist practices to understand how best to implement well child visits into the clinic workflow.

Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Define the seven components of a Well Child Visit/EPSDT
  2. Identify documentation requirements for Well Child/EPSDT visits
  3. How to implement Well Child visits into clinic workflow
  4. Recognize the positive impact for the practices of increasing well visits

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and TNAAP. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
