Occurs weekly every Tuesday starting on 1/7/2025 at 1:00 PM
Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Virtual

Specialties - Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ABPath MOC Part II (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours)

Hematopathology Consensus and Interesting Case Conference participants will examine and discuss recent cases with the goal of reaching consensus on diagnostic strategies and appropriate ancillary studies. In order to stay competent, pathologists must see a wide range of cases and take into consideration the differential diagnosis. Because many hematopathologic diseases are difficult to diagnosis, it is essential to share cases with other experts in the field. This allows for intellectual discussion about diagnostic possibilities and consensus on how to proceed with the case to ensure appropriate patient care. The cases shown at this conference would occasionally be considered for send-out expert consultation and would therefore be part of the gap in knowledge. Due to the rarity of some disease entities, it is necessary to share interesting cases so that all can have the benefit of exposure.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to demonstrate the capability to:

  1. Evaluate pathology from different hematopathologic entities using evidence from recent research
  2. Integrate relevant clinical and radiologic data into a differential diagnosis
  3. Reach consensus on diagnostic strategies and appropriate ancillary studies

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

VUMC, in collaboration with the ACCME, offers credit for the American Board of Pathology’s (ABPath) Continuing Certification (CC) Program. This activity has been approved for 1.00 of Lifelong Learning credit. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

PLEASE NOTE: This regularly scheduled series does not award MOC II or Continuing Certification credit for the month of December. MOC II or Continuing Certification credit can only be reported within the same year the credit was earned.
