• To evaluate the care of a trauma patient from a clinical and systems perspective and to perform interdisciplinary implementation of improvement strategies. It is responsible for establishing objective criteria for identifying issues for review and determining compliance with standard of care. o Recommendations and/or action plans with associated re-evaluation (if applicable) will be made when areas needing improvement are determined. • Provide the structure and organization to promote performance improvement and patient safety in the trauma program. • Monitor the structure, process and outcome of trauma patient care • Improve the knowledge and skills of trauma care providers with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Provide the participant with an understanding of contemporary management of patients with the problems presented, discussed, and analyzed.
  2. Improve the knowledge and skills of trauma care providers with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes.
  3. Present the participant with an overview of the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment regarding patient care.
  4. Enable the participant to make effective patient treatment decisions.
  5. Provide the structure and organization to promote performance improvement and patient safety in the trauma program.
