This is a twice yearly meeting intended to do quality improvement in myocardial perfusion imaging and to address ICANL criteria for accreditation as a nuclear cardiology laboratory. We review various nuclear cardiovascular cases and images to determine the overall sensitivity and specificity among our readers. We also review recent advances in nuclear cardiovascular imaging. Up to four cases in which variations from typical interpretation occurred are selected for discussion. Participants have an opportunity to interpret ECG tracings and images of myocardial perfusion before the session. During the session, participants discuss why variations occurred with the goal of reaching consensus on the acceptable range of interpretations.

Objectives
The goal of this CME activity is to improve diagnostic accuracy of clinicians who read the results of nuclear cardiovascular test. After participation in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss factors contributing to variation in interpretation of ECG tracings and images of myocardial perfusion.
  2. Identify abnormal ECG tracings and images of myocardial perfusion.
  3. Interpret abnormal ECG tracings and images of myocardial perfusion.
  4. Determine patient management strategies based on interpretations.
  5. Summarize relevant ICNAL standards and guidelines relevant to each case.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 Medical Knowledge (Part II) MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

PLEASE NOTE: This regularly scheduled series does not award MOC II credit for the month of December. MOC credit can only be reported within the same year the credit was earned.
