Formally known as STAT-MD Training, the STAT+ ("STAT plus") course is developed for medical providers dedicated to responding to practice recommendations by the AAP by incorporating autism screening into their practice. Specifically, this two-day workshop is designed to teach enhanced diagnostic consultation and screening procedures to pediatric medical providers serving young children. The workshop provides training in conducting autism-focused assessments with children, ages 18-36 months with emphasis is on incorporating time-sensitive consultation models into community practice. The STAT+ workshop expands STAT-focused content to incorporate new tools and resources directly related to PCP feedback and our team’s work to develop and test materials/tools specifically designed to overcome barriers to implementing autism screening within primary care. While developed to meet the needs of community medical providers, other professionals who wish to use the STAT and ASD PEDS to assist in diagnostic assessment or early screening of autism are encouraged to attend.
