VA Anesthesiology MMI is offered monthly. Participants will engage in education on individual, practice and system factors contributing to medical errors, complications and sub-optimal outcomes. and improving patient outcomes. A variety of topics from researchers in several disciplines from across the VU and VUMC institutions will be covered.


Objectives
After participation in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Review current practice to identify opportunities for improvement based on individual, practice and system factors.
  2. Describe and discuss individual, practice and system factors contributing to medical errors, complications and sub-optimal outcomes.
  3. Implement strategies to address opportunities for improvement aimed at reducing medical errors complications and sub-optimal outcomes.


Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

PLEASE NOTE: To receive CME, MOC II, MOCA®, or MOCA® Patient Safety credit for this activity, the evaluation component must be completed. To receive MOC II, MOCA®, or MOCA® Patient Safety credit, the evaluation must be completed no later than November 30th. Evaluations completed after this date will award CME credit only. Evaluations can be found in your CloudCME portal under the Evaluations & Certificates tab.

PLEASE NOTE: This regularly scheduled series does not award MOC II, MOCA®, or MOCA® Patient Safety credit for the month of December. MOC II, MOCA®, and MOCA® Patient Safety credit can only be reported within the same year the credit was earned.
