The Multidisciplinary Complex Skeletal Disorders (MCSD) Conference will be guided by collaborative leadership from Orthopedic Oncology, MSK Radiology, Pathology, and Endocrinology. This monthly case conference will provide coordinated, cross-specialty review of adult patients with rare, complex, or atypical skeletal conditions, including metabolic bone diseases, genetic skeletal dysplasias (e.g., tumor-induced osteomalacia, fibrous dysplasia/MAS, XLH, OI), and unusual structural or mineralization disorders. Our mission is to enhance patient outcomes through integrated, evidence-based evaluation and consensus-driven management recommendations. The MCSD Board will also serve as a platform for collaboration with our basic science partners to identify opportunities for research and discovery.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Apply a multidisciplinary framework to evaluate patients with complex musculoskeletal and rare skeletal disorders, integrating clinical, radiographic, biochemical, and genetic data.
  2. Identify diagnostic delays and common misdiagnoses in rare metabolic bone and connective tissue disorders and implement strategies to reduce time to accurate diagnosis.
  3. Develop evidence-based management plans for adults with rare skeletal diseases, including coordination of subspecialty care and transition from pediatric to adult services.
  4. Recognize emerging therapies and clinical trial opportunities relevant to rare musculoskeletal and metabolic bone disorders.
