The Research Ethics Grand Rounds is offered once a semester on a Tuesday or Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in Room 241, Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, One Magnolia Circle on the Peabody campus, Vanderbilt University. This series is designed to expand researcher awareness of potential ethical dilemmas and possible solutions. This series is designed to expand researcher awareness of potential ethical dilemmas and possible solutions. This series addresses topics ranging from the ethical dimensions of participant recruitment to the recognition of possible child abuse. As a result, participants will be able to recognize and address ethical considerations and respond in ethically appropriate ways. After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to summarize research best practices for including individuals with and without disabilities and their families in research opportunities, demonstrate person-centered ethical practices, describe and discuss the range of ethical considerations involved in research design and practice, and incorporate ethical decision-making in routine clinical practice.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Summarize best practices in including individuals with and without disabilities and their families in research opportunities
  2. Demonstrate person-centered ethical practices.
  3. Describe the range of ethical considerations involved in research design and practice.
  4. Incorporate ethical decision-making in routine clinical practice
