Participants will engage in education on individual, practice and system factors contributing to medical errors, complications and sub-optimal outcomes. and improving patient outcomes. A variety of topics from researchers in several disciplines from across the VU and VUMC institutions will be covered.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss individual, practice and system factors contributing to medical errors, complications and sub-optimal outcomes.
  2. Review current practice to identify opportunities for improvement based on individual, practice and system factors.
  3. Implement strategies to address opportunities for improvement aimed at reducing medical errors complications and sub-optimal outcomes.
