A multidisciplinary team including pediatric endocrinology, pediatric ENT, pediatric surgery, pathology, cytology, radiology, and nuclear medicine meet regularly to discuss patient cases of thyroid nodules and cancer in addition to reviewing relevant medical literature and discussing research opportunitites.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Discuss patient prognosis and risk of recurrence based on surgical and pathological findings
  2. Understand indications for use of radioactive iodine in the management of pediatric patients with thyroid cancer
  3. Describe the role of targeted therapies in thyroid cancer
