This activity will discuss basic pathophysiology in critical illness, strategies for evaluating pediatric patients to determine illnesses and severity, commonly employed treatment strategies for critical illness, and identification and treatment of common complications of critical illness.


Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Articulate the current plan of care and long term treatment pathway for each patient in the PICU
  2. Maintain the consensus current plan of care for each patient
  3. Assess new patient data and information against the consensus plan of care and modify as needed
