Each module involves a child with behavioral health or substance abuse concerns and each case has a corresponding screening tool for participants to review. The participants work through the screening tool to become familiar with the tool and calculate a score. Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Recognize the effects of trauma on the developing child
  2. Identify children with psychological trauma and physical abuse in the primary care pediatric setting
  3. Apply principles of trauma-competent care to the primary care pediatric setting
  4. Describe a new or improved strategy that applies to content in clinical practice
  5. Demonstrate application of the content in a simulated practice environment or educational setting
