A multidisciplinary discussion about cases that involve both retina specialists and Infectious Diseases.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Recognize cases in which coordination of care between Infectious Diseases and Retinal specialists are warranted
  2. Diagnose and treat various complex infections of the retina
  3. Understand the differences between ophthalmic and systemic antibiotics, and when one is warranted over the other
  4. Recognize situations in which urgent surgical evaluation or urgent antimicrobials are needed.


Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 Medical Knowledge (Part II) MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
