Pediatric Behavioral Health Training focused on individualized care. Topics include child development, caring for children in crisis, caring for children with autism, patient engagement, and de-escalation.


APA Objectives
  1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to apply verbal de-escalation skills during the care of pediatric behavioral health patients.
  2. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to assess developmental level and needs of a patient and apply that knowledge to individualized care.
  3. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to assess patients' needs and determine appropriate patient engagement strategies.
  4. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to determine best methods for communication with patients (verbal, non-verbal) based on developmental status and presentation.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will self-report increased knowledge related to the care of pediatric behavioral health patients.
