The Annual Vanderbilt Stroke and Neuroscience Symposium is the premiere Continuing Medical Education event aimed at improving stroke care in Middle Tennessee. The event will be held in Nashville on April 17th and feature a superb lineup of local and internationally recognized leaders in stroke care. Stroke care is evolving rapidly and it is essential that changes in guidelines and in the standard of practice are efficiently communicated. Our panel of speakers will provide updates on a broad range of topics related to acute stroke care, risk factor management and prevention strategies and rehabilitation, emphasizing new guidelines, clinical trial results and identifying areas of expected growth in the field in the coming years.


Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. State the key priorities for primary stroke prevention based on new guidelines
  2. Identify the key new clinical trial results and specific changes to clinical practice based on the results
  3. Understand stroke risk related to pregnancy and appropriate stroke prevention and stroke treatment strategies in this specialized setting.
  4. Improve management and prevention strategies for stroke care in special settings (in the ICU, in the setting of migraine, etc).
