Increasing numbers of Americans utilize complementary and integrative health (CIH) modalities, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, and mindfulness to address their physical and mental health needs. The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt offers a wide array of evidence-based integrative health services, offered in both individual and group formats, via telemedicine and in-person, to the communities served by Vanderbilt Health. Additionally, the Osher Center provides a model of coordinated, multidisciplinary, non-pharmacological care for individuals with chronic health concerns, including chronic pain, which supplements standard medical care. This CME offering is aimed at primary and specialty care providers (physicians and advanced practice providers) at Vanderbilt, to provide an overview of the evidence base for individual CIH modalities and multidisciplinary, coordinated care. Attendees will also learn about the various referral pathways for patients to establish care and access services at the Osher Center. This in-person activity will include a tour of the Osher Center facilities, a didactic presentation, application to case examples, and time for questions and discussion. Upon completion of the CME, attendees will be designated “Clinical Liasons” of the Osher Center, with access to direct referral pathways for selected Osher clinical services, otherwise available only through internal referral from Osher Center providers. The purpose of this CME offering is to provide education on evidence-based integrative health treatments, increase awareness of Osher Center resources, and increase patient access to evidence-based integrative treatment services available at Vanderbilt Health.
