A key objective of the SJS TEN 2023 meeting will be to continue process in engaging science with the community. As with our prior SJS TEN meetings, we anticipate and will encourage broad representation across the different disciplines involved in the research and treatment of Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrosis (TEN). These will include specialists in dermatology, allergy and immunology, infectious diseases, neurology, psychiatry, and pharmacy. SJS TEN 2023 will focus on drawing new science, understanding, and translation relevant to these diseases and a better understanding of the acute and long-term sequelae from the community perspective. The meeting sessions will focus on improving the understanding of the underlying causes and subsequent treatment of SJS/TEN through cutting-edge research, and will also address and provide ongoing benefit to patient concerns through a community workshop and additional patient-focused sessions. We will promote and ensure diversity across scientific and community faculty, attendees, and stakeholders and efforts are ongoing to ensure there is diverse representation across expertise, age, sex, race/ethnicity, and country of origin.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. describe and discuss evidence based strategies to prevent the occurrence of SJS/TEN
  2. foster brainstorming and growth of a collaborative and interactive research network
  3. showcase cutting edge, innovative, and translational research relevant to the advancement of SJS/TEN
  4. utilize the SJS/TEN community engagement to identify unmet clinical, scientific, and psychosocial needs
