This CME activity consists of surveys, slides, and video with embedded questions followed by an evaluation requiring approximately 2.0 hours of your time. To obtain CME credit for your participation in this activity, you must complete all portions and pass the post-test with a score of 80% or higher. Your credit will become immediately available online.

Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:

  1. The importance of using competency-based assessments with learners in the clinical setting
  2. The five key components of giving effective feedback
  3. Differences between effective and non-effective behaviors when giving feedback
  4. Approaches to providing feedback that demonstrate the use of characteristics of effective feedback
  5. An action plan to change one behavior in clinical teaching based on information learned in the program
